Intermediate Web Developer
Full-time
Seeking a talented Web developer with a passion for creativity, emerging technologies and an appreciation for open source and Web standards. The ideal candidate would work closely with our team of designers to contribute toward creative solutions that fit a client’s online presence strategy by building feature-rich systems with a strong focus on User Experience.
Production
- Develop dynamic solutions that accomplish project requirements using open frameworks such as Wordpress, Drupal or simple custom code
- Implement user interface from approved design mockups using XHTML, CSS & JavaScript
- Liaise with design team and/or project manager to communicate challenges and recommend alternative solutions
- Develop recommendations to improve organic search traffic through page structure, site architecture, keyword research and SEO copy wrighting
- Make periodic content updates to existing client websites
- Join in on periodic outbursts of musical exuberance
- Research current and emerging technologies for practical application in meeting project requirements
Systems Administration & Support
- Troubleshoot client technical needs
- MySQL Database Architecting
- Web server management via CPanel
- Google Apps administration
- Support the team’s coffee addiction
Qualifications
- 3–5 years experience in Web marketing with a solid track record of success in implementing online presence strategies
- Skilled in XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Nunchuck wielding, MySQL
- Experience with all major web browsers (IE6, 7 & 8; FF 3+; Safari 5; Chrome)
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Well organized and detail-oriented; while keeping overall project objectives into account
- Focussed and task-oriented with agility to transition and re-prioritize with varying tight deadlines
- Extensive experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
- An understanding of LAMP server administration
- An understanding of HTML5 and mobile app development an asset
- Adobe Flash and ActionScript 3 experience an asset
- Command-line shell administration (aka. certified nerd) an asset
